One School, Once Book is a program designed to create a shared reading experience within a single elementary school community. A chapter book is chosen, every students receives a copy, and every family reads that book at home over the course of a single month. Activities at school coordinate, promote and enrich the shared reading experience.
Each Fairmount family will receive one copy of the same book and will be asked to read it together at home over the next two weeks. The OSOB committee would like to encourage you to set aside some time each day/night for your family to participate in this special activity (this is an optional activity; your participation is voluntary).
Books will be handed out March 17th to the youngest child in a family by their classroom teacher. You can send pictures of your family reading to Amy Meadows to post on the Fairmount Families Facebook group.
The Fairmount Student Council is excited to launch a school-wide Ronald McDonald House project, complete with a fun incentive for donations, all in coordination with this year’s OSOB!
Thank you for your participation in these activities. Happy Reading!
