Next week kicks off the PTA-sponsored ONE SCHOOL ONE BOOK (OSOB) program. This is a national family-read program that Fairmount Elementary participates in every year.
Each Fairmount family will receive one copy of the same book and will be asked to read it together at home over the next two weeks. The OSOB committee would like to encourage you to set aside some time each day/night for your family to participate in this special activity (this is an optional activity; your participation is voluntary).
Books will be handed out March 16th to the youngest child in a family by their classroom teacher.
You can send pictures of your family reading to Amy Medows to post on the Fairmount Families Facebook group.
The Fairmount Student Council is excited to launch a school-wide Canines4Comfort project in coordination with this year’s OSOB!
Thank you for your participation in these activities. Happy Reading!
One School, Once Book is a program designed to create a shared reading experience within a single elementary school community. A chapter book is chosen, every students receives a copy, and every family reads that book at home over the course of a single month. Activities at school coordinate, promote and enrich the shared reading experience. The program usually runs in the spring.
